Bowker have Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status which is recognised globally - acknowledging Bowker’s procedures as well as customs controls are fully compliant and efficient.

FORS (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) is an accreditation scheme for transportation companies. The objective of FORS is to increase operating standards and quality within transport organisations validating which hauliers are delivering best practice in safety, efficiency, and environmental protection.

Bowker have a Silver FORS accreditation which demonstrates our commitment to exceeding the industry standard.

FORS is a voluntary scheme and reassures customers that Bowker comply with current legislation and ensures our vehicles meet safety and emission requirements.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Storage and Distribution was introduced in 2006. It provides the certification between the range of BRC Global Standards manufacturing Standards and the customer.

Assessed through audits and certification, the overall aim is to certify product integrity throughout storage and distribution, ensuring customer confidence is maintained.

The certification is broken down into the following category.

•Senior management commitment and continuous improvement
•Hazard and risk analysis
•Quality management system
•Site and building standards
•Vehicle operating standards
•Facility management
•Good operating practices

The SQAS assessment reports allow chemical companies to evaluate their logistics service providers according to their own standards and requirements.

SQAS is a key element of Responsible Care in logistics operations.

Medicines and medical devices regulation and safety
Good distribution practice (GDP) describes the minimum standards that a wholesale distributor must meet to ensure that the quality and integrity of medicines is maintained throughout the supply chain.

Bowker’s upper COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) warehousing facilities are fully equipped to safely store and handle large quantities of hazardous materials and chemicals.

Bowker are long standing members of TASCC which is a recognised scheme within the food industry as being vital in ensuring traceability of grain, oilseeds and pulses after they have left the grower – typically a farm.

The Storage Scheme is operated in conjunction with the Grain and Feed Trade Association which not only covers combinable crops but also feed materials.

In accordance with the internationally recognised standard EN45011, the scheme is inspected by an independent body.

MHRA Logistics

Bowker are licenced by the MHRA – demonstrating consistently high levels of quality.

Our safe and secure storage facilities specifically designed for holding Health Care products, Medicine and pharmaceuticals are licenced by the MHRA (Medicine and Healthcare product Regulatory Agency).

As an MHRA approved operator, our operation is regularly assessed by the governing agency to ensure the high standards are maintained. Rigorous pest control measures are adhered to, internal and external CCTV are in operation 24/7 and stringent stock control processes are in place to ensure full traceability on goods.
