Bowker Selby Expands with Additional Warehouse Acquisition and Secures BRCGS AA+ Accreditation Following Unannounced Audit
Bowker Selby is celebrating a significant achievement after securing AA+ accreditation from BRCGS (Brand Reputation through Compliance Global Standards), awarded following an unannounced audit. This comes shortly after Bowker acquiring two new warehouses within their estate at Selby. The expansion adds 5,400 pallet locations, adding to their food-grade storage capacity, enabling the business to further support existing customers while accommodating new opportunities.
The AA+ grade represents the height of BRCGS certification and is only granted to sites that demonstrate exceptional standards of quality, safety and operational control during an unannounced inspection.
The result builds on last year’s success, when the Selby site retained its AA rating following a planned audit. Additionally, last year marked a major personal milestone for newly promoted General Manager Liam McDonough, who was named Warehouse Manager of the Year by the United Kingdom Warehousing Association. His journey from Warehouse Twinner to General Manager was widely celebrated, reflecting both his dedication and the strength of leadership development within the business.
Liam McDonough, General Manager commented:
“We’re absolutely delighted with the audit result. Every single day the team works incredibly hard to ensure we operate to the very highest standards. Huge credit goes to every member of the team; this is a collective achievement and we’re all very proud with the outcome.”
Nick Brightey, Regional Director at Bowker said:
“We are incredibly proud of Liam and the entire team at Selby. They consistently operate to exceptionally high standards, and the outcome of this unannounced audit is clear recognition of the dedication and discipline they demonstrate every single day.”
