Our values

Effective working partnerships with its colleagues, customers and suppliers have been Bowker’s fundamental building blocks and these principles have remained unaltered since 1919.

Commitment, communication and care.

Whilst our building blocks remain unchanged, how we conduct ourselves on a daily basis is crucial to the implementation of our long term goals. This is what our three core values represent: commitment, communication and care.

Commitment

Commitment

Maintaining our family ethos is critical to our business culture and day-to-day operation. To ensure Bowker continue to provide innovative, reliable logistic solutions we are committed to creating an environment where our people flourish.

Developing long-term partnerships with both our customers and suppliers are the cornerstones of our business. Whilst investing in our infrastructure, developing bespoke IT solutions and in the latest most fuel-efficient vehicle technology forms the basis of our commercial success, our commitment sustainability and ultimately our continued longevity.

Care

Care

We are passionate about all aspects of the service we provide. Our reputation for reliability has been built on a culture that deeply cares about colleagues, customers, partners and suppliers. With our knowledge and experience, we add value to supply chains - continuing to enhance our name and reputation in the industry.

Communication

Communication

With the ever changing pressures on the supply chain, confidence and communication are more critical now than they have ever been. Our customers need confidence that the service will be provided. Our investment in technology provides visibility and data to support decision making which is pivotal to a successful partnership.

Our mission

Our customers’ individual requirements and long-term objectives are at the heart of how we operate. In an increasingly unpredictable marketplace, our mission is to create value for our customers, delivering innovative, reliable solutions whilst playing an integral role within our customers’ supply chain

Our Heritage

Our Heritage

Bowker has developed into one of the largest privately-owned transport & warehousing companies in the UK but the company’s foundations were built on humble beginnings. It all started 104 years ago in Blackburn, Lancashire. William Henry Bowker used his war gratuity to buy his first vehicle and began making local deliveries. It wasn't long before he'd assembled one of the largest fleets in the area. Learn more about Bowker’s history.
