Our values

Effective working partnerships with its colleagues, customers and suppliers have been Bowker’s fundamental building blocks and these principles have remained unaltered since 1919.

Commitment, communication and care.

Whilst our building blocks remain unchanged, how we conduct ourselves on a daily basis is crucial to the implementation of our long term goals. This is what our three core values represent: commitment, communication and care.

Our Heritage

Bowker has developed into one of the largest privately-owned transport & warehousing companies in the UK but the company’s foundations were built on humble beginnings. It all started 103 years ago in Blackburn, Lancashire. William Henry Bowker used his war gratuity to buy his first vehicle and began making local deliveries. It wasn't long before he'd assembled one of the largest fleets in the area. Learn more about Bowker’s history.
